I worked on my 2005 Trek 7500 multitrack to get it in shape for a resell. After replacing the rear inner tube and removing the clip pedals, I decided that it would be a good candidate for an ebike conversion. I decided on the Bafang 750w conversion kit with an 18mAh battery and 42 tooth chain ring.
I thought this would be a good project to occupy some time. It took about 2 weeks to complete. The toughest part was removing the crank bolts. They would not budge until a 2 foot breaker bar was used. Then I had to get the correct bottom bracket removal tool.
Installation went well. Now I’m just working on getting rid of some battery rattles.
